Rest in Peace Joker 2000-2025

Shining Joker April 17, 2000 - March 20, 2025

ing Joker  3994259 was an own son of the Shriner, the 2000 NRCHA Silver Open Hackamore Champion and the grandson of;

 Shining Spark, the NRCHA #1 All Time Leading Sire and A.Q.H.A. Super Horse and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.  His dam and grand dam is equally notable, 'WAGGONER'S JOKER', from the legendary Rocking W Ranch.

Joker was a very versatile stallion.  He was often ridden by late husband, Doyle in team roping and also ridden by our granddaughter, Dallas on barrels.  But what made him very special is his calm manner and wonderful mind.  This is why he is a proven performer and his babies pass on that great disposition.

Shining Joker unexpectedly left this world for that big pasture in the sky. He was an honest little horse with a big heart who loved his people, his treats and hanging out under the fan in his stall.  He was always a perfect gentleman to the ladies, was always well behaved and never “acted like a stallion”.  He’d stand calmly next to mares at the shows just like he was a gelding. You could rope steers on him or run barrels and poles.  Pops bought him from Grady Jones as a present for Da/Sheila and He roped off him (heels), and was the horse that Dallas learned to ride on. Emily Anderson put a barrel pattern on him and soon after Dallas won her first buckle with him. Joker was more than just a horse to us, he was a much loved member of the family and He brought us so much joy and we are forever grateful for the years that he was a part of our family, and so blessed that we still have some of his babies in our pen.  Our hearts are broken but we take comfort at the thought that he was met at those pearly pasture gates by Pops. No doubt they’ve been reunited once again and have probably already roped a few steers up there. My mind is still numb and in shock over his sudden passing so it is hard to adequately come up with the words to properly memorialize him like he deserves, but  just know that he entered heaven without a tail. IYKYK.

On behalf of our entire family, we extend our deepest gratitude to our family and friends who came over to comfort us and help us give him a proper burial this evening. We appreciate you all more than you will ever know Shining Joker unexpectedly left this world for that big pasture in the sky.

Joker produced 39 AQHA Registered off spring and 3 APHA progeny.  Plus over 20 unregistered colts by non registered mares.
